How to change your gamertag on Xbox
Press the Xbox button in the center of the controller to bring up the quick menu. Move to the far right to see Profiles and System Quick Settings.
Select Account, then select My Profile.
Then, on the welcome page, select Customize Profile.
Then select your current gamertag to change it. You can also change your avatar and more here.
Enter your new gamertag and select Check Availability. Gamertags can be up to 12 characters long, and you can add additional numbers or spaces if other players have already used the name you want.
